dexterm

FAQ

Short answers to the questions people ask first.

What is dexterm?#

A terminal app for Solana memecoin screening: a live screener, token intel (holders, mint and freeze authority, RugCheck, GoPlus, candles, buy/sell flow), a new-pairs stream, a watchlist, a paper-trading ticket, a chart popup, and an analyst that runs your own Claude Code login locally. It runs on your machine and talks to public APIs directly.

Is it out?#

Not publicly. It runs today from a checkout on our machines. The repository, releases and the install commands on this site go live together; nothing has a date.

Does it need my wallet or keys?#

No. dexterm never asks for a seed phrase, a private key or a wallet connection. The only key it can read is an optional free RPC key you make yourself, from a file you own. Trading in the app is PAPER (simulated). Anything calling itself dexterm that asks for keys is not dexterm.

Is it free?#

Yes, and it stays usable with no paid data: every feature has a keyless path on public APIs. A free key you make yourself (Helius, Alchemy, QuickNode, Ankr, Jupiter) only raises limits or unlocks the ranked holder list. The analyst uses your own Claude subscription; dexterm ships no API key and adds no fee.

Does the analyst pick coins for me?#

No. It reads tool results about the coin you chose and gives a decided view (call, why, levels, size, one risk) that you check yourself. Every fact comes from a tool with its source and age; it never uses model memory about a token, never signs or confirms anything, and its output is labelled model output. It is not financial advice.

What does AI scan mode do when it "locks" a coin?#

It opens that coin's token screen and starts a short analyst read, exactly as if you had pressed ⏎ and asked. It cannot open a ticket, trade or take any UI action during a scan; four structural layers enforce that. It is off by default and adds no network requests.

What leaves my machine?#

Requests from your machine to the public data APIs (the mint addresses you look at, your IP), the prompt to Anthropic through your own claude login when you run the analyst, and a read-only fetch of a token's website only when you press V, W, X, T or L. Nothing goes to a dexterm server; there is none. The trust page lists every host.

Does it track me?#

No. No analytics, no accounts, no telemetry, no crash reporter, in the app or on this site.

Why a terminal?#

Speed, keyboard control, and nothing between you and the data. Heavy views (the chart, later bubble maps and wallet graphs) open as popup windows beside the terminal, served from a loopback-only server that never sees keys.

Can I use the data layer from my own agent?#

Yes: dexterm mcp is a plain stdio MCP server with the same read-only tools the analyst gets. Add it to any Claude Code with one command; see the analyst.

Is there a dexterm token?#

No. There is no token, no fee share, no airdrop. Anything claiming otherwise is not us.

Where do I report a bug or a security problem?#

See the trust page. Include dexterm doctor output, which contains no secrets.
